We are currently looking for Quality Assurance Coordinator to join our team at our affiliate California Fresh Farms in Delhi, CA.
The Quality Assurance Coordinator will play a key plant role to ensure that all products meet company and industry food safety and quality standards. This role will be responsible for understanding the Company’s principles of food safety, quality policy, and GMPs, and for implementing these principles on a regular basis and assisting staff members and other in compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree (or currently enrolled) in quality assurance, food safety or similar degree program.
- 6 months’ experience in a manufacturing setting desired
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Solid team player
- Excellent organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Bilingual in Spanish (plus)
SQF
- Responsible for developing, implementing, leading, validating, reviewing, following-up on, verifying, daily operation, and maintaining all requirements of the SQF Code Level 3.
Food Safety & Quality
- Decides how deviations from food safety and quality should be handled
- Leads food safety meetings
- Provides marginal product disposition
- Creates food safety and quality training material
- Ensures employees are trained on food safety and quality topics
- Maintains training register for all employees
- Reviews, follows-up as necessary, and signs-off on daily QA paperwork
Policies/Procedures/Forms
- Creates and updates policies, procedures, and forms as needed
- Assigns document numbers and effective dates
- Updated document control list as necessary
- Archives outdated documents and ensures most recent documents are in use
Supplier Approval
- Responsible for supplier approval program
- Reviews and follows-up on supplier 3rd party audits
- Audits and follows-up on supplier 2nd party audits
Microbiological Program
- Coordinates micro testing and lab pickups
- Reviews results and follows-up as necessary
- Pest Control Program
Manages program
- Ensures deficiencies are corrected
- Signs off on all pest control reports and maps
- Creates quarterly trend reports or uses 3rd party trend reports and reports trends to management and follows-up as needed
Internal Audits
- Conducts monthly internal food safety and quality audits and ensures corrective actions are done for deficiencies
- Conducts quarterly glass and brittle plastic inspections and ensures corrective actions are done for deficiencies
- Annual review of the SQF system
Research and Development
- Coordinates all research and development testing
- Manages shelf life retention program
- Provides analysis of results to management
