Payroll/Human Resources/Workers Comp Coordinator

We are currently looking for a Payroll/Human Resources/Workers Comp Coordinator in Lodi, CA.

As the Payroll/HR/WC Coordinator you will be responsible for processing multiple payrolls, administering worker’s compensation, and providing support to employees and management on all HR matters.  

Responsibilities:

  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for multiple pay groups using Famous software.
  • Import, audit, and correct data from PET Tiger time and attendance software.
  • Track paid sick leave accruals.
  • Deposit and report employment taxes.
  • Process employee garnishments, respond to unemployment insurance claims, and prepare W-2 forms.
  • Review Injury reports, assist with investigations, file claims with worker’s compensation insurer, transport injured employee to medical facility at time of injury if needed, monitor medical treatment, coordinate return to work and modified duty, prepare monthly reports and annual audit documents.
  • Supervise completion of new hire and rehire documents.
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, and termination.
  • Assist with benefits enrollment.
  • Maintain employee records and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Coordinate training and respond to questions about personnel policies and procedures.
  • Investigate and attempt to resolve employee concerns about disciplinary actions.
  • Supervise several employees on a seasonal basis.
  • Attend seminars and conferences to increase or maintain required knowledge.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned formally or informally from time to time.

Please note:  As the Payroll/HR/WC Coordinator, this job is Full time during the cherry season, and as otherwise needed; part time the remainder of the year.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.  College level accounting and business classes are a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll and basic accounting, prior agriculture industry experience and working knowledge of Famous software required.  Experience with piece rate calculations and time management systems is a plus.
  • Know federal and state payroll regulations and tax requirements
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, and QuickBooks 
  • Bilingual English and Spanish with the ability to communicate, read, write, and translate at a proficient level
  • Organized and detail oriented, able to work with minimal supervision, able to manage multiple tasks at the same time and on a deadline
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, and presentation
  • Able to deal sensitively with confidential information
  • Good judgment and able to make quick and sound decisions in emergency situations
  • Able to work longer than 8-hours shifts and weekends during cherry season and as otherwise needed
