Job Description: 
Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities to purchase avocados, domestically and internationally for resale by employer. Builds business relations and supports sales, including assisting sales to identify opportunities to expand sales. Serves as employer link with growers, (domestically and internationally – primarily in Mexico), packing houses, and importers. 
 
The Purchasing Manager will determine quality and classification of avocados, and assesses growing conditions at producer sites (domestically and internationally), for compliance with U.S. import requirements. Purchasing Manager will be responsible for researching information and banking information concerning suppliers (domestically and internationally) and importers.
 
Duties will also include the supervision of testing the temperature conditions, hardness, ripeness, and appearance of avocados and obtaining USDA approvals for imported avocados.
Requirements: 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration.
  • 24 months prior experience in position(s) with similar job duties.
