The Purchasing - Quality Assurance Analyst will be responsible for assisting with the day to day fruit and vegetable tasks within the Quality Assurance department. The primary responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following: scheduling sample shipments, reviewing commercial laboratory reports and analyzing supplier traceability data.
The ideal candidate should be highly organized, extremely detail oriented, proactive and possess a strong interest in the field of food science.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Agriculture Science, or Environmental Science
- 2-3 years of professional work experience
- Experience with quality assurance requirements (FSMA, OSHA, USDA, EPA, GAP, GHP, GFSI)
- Strong understanding of the agricultural industry and food safety technical field
- Detail oriented with excellent data processing skills
- Proactive with excellent project and time management skills
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Excel Macros, Access, SAP or a comparable database system
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience working in a dynamic environment
- Fluent in Spanish
- Assist the QA produce team with the scheduling of laboratory testing and sample shipments
- Collect, organize and review laboratory reports from commercial laboratories
- Monitor agent/supplier/wholesaler/pack house/grower certification status and registrations with the company
- Provide support to the Quality Assurance team on a daily basis
- Review vendor programs and vendor performance
- Other duties as assigned
