We are currently looking for a Fresh-Cut Operations Manager to oversee the day to day operation of the process/fresh cut department. A successful candidate will be able to develop, execute, monitor and improve production plans.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Management, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of food production manufacturing required, produce processing and fresh-cut experience preferred.
  • 5 years managing and supervising groups of at least 30 subordinates.
  • Must be HACCP Certified.
  • Must have a proven track record of increasing responsibility in production.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Technically oriented, comfortable around machinery and a plant environment.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Capable of working with people of different experiences and educational backgrounds.
  • Able to lift up to 60lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to work in temperatures ranging from 35 degrees to 78 degrees.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus, but not required.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of process controls, product flow, inventory control, quality assurance protocols, equipment optimization, and supply chain management.
  • Must be able to develop key performance indicators and metrics in order to communicate and track critical production data to personnel at all levels.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Ensure that plant sanitation meets or exceeds the industrial GMP, all FDA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Supervises and manages department staff, including establishing work schedules, assigning tasks, disciplining and cross-training staff.
  • Coordinate with the Human Resources department in selecting, orientating, training, and developing competent people to ensure adequate staffing levels for effective performance.
  • Maintains compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, quality specifications, safety standards and sanitation practices.
  • Develops and executes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods, implementing cost reductions, developing reporting procedures and systems, and facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control point.
  • Initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Tracks inventory of supplies needed to meet production goals.
  • Monitors the performance of all subordinates, coaching and redirecting when necessary to ensure their continual development and the achievement of company goals and objectives.
  • Monitors daily production to ensure production quotas are met.
  • Leads efforts in continuous process improvement.
  • Controls costs of production, quality, and sanitation.
  • Manage department budget and spending
  • Spearheads company’s efforts to maintain and obtain additional food processing certifications (i.e. SQF, GIS).
  • Leads support during new product development, rollout, and startup of new equipment or processes.
  • Serves as a mentor to less experienced staff.
  • Other duties as assigned by senior management.
