Warehouse Manager-Texas

This individual will work under the direction of the Senior Operations Manager and is responsible for the direct management and handling of all warehousing and distribution functions. This includes accountability for direct reports such as Production Supervisors, Shipping Supervisors, Receiving Supervisors, Quality Coordinator and the overall monitoring General Labour team.as well as adherence to legislative, food safety, and organization policies and procedures. The Warehouse Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, managing and evaluating the operations of the warehouse facilities. The Warehouse Manager will accomplish effective logistical oversight through strong leadership and decision making skills.

General Duties:

• Plan, develop, organize, direct, manage, and evaluate the operations of warehousing facilities, which include.
• Maintain focus on productivity, cost control, efficiencies and production equipment improvements
• Responsible for monitoring and enforcement of company policies, procedures, and applicable industry policies and regulations
• Monitor and enforce warehouse food safety, health and safety, and security programs and activities
• Develop, approve and implement warehouse operations policies and procedures and communicate this information to all staff
• Develop key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of the warehouse operations
• Remain current with latest warehouse operations technology systems and procedures
• Plan, organize and direct warehousing related administrative services such as signage, cleaning, installations, maintenance, repair
• Perform day to day administration duties
• Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships
• Problem solve, negotiate, and address staff challenges
• Plan warehouse layout and space requirements in order to prevent loss, damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization
• Control and monitor inventory security
• Ensure all production orders are process and shipped to customers in a timely manner in adherence to production and delivery schedules
• Assess the need for and arrange the purchase of moving equipment (ex: forklift), production equipment (ex. Conveyor belts), traceability equipment (ex. Label printers), etc

Position Reports to: Senior Operations Manager

Staffing, Training, & Supervision Duties

• With the assistance of Human Resources, interview, select, coach, train, mange, and appraise the performance of warehouse and supervisory personnel
• Mentor and coach supervisory staff
• Responsible for ensure competent individuals are assigned to new personnel for training purposes in all areas: production processes, health and safety, orientation, food safety, and day to day housekeeping
• Supervision and monitor of the warehouse supervisory and lead personnel from hiring, disciplining and termination, if required

Record Keeping, Tool & Technology

• Complete, maintain, and monitor accurate production records and departmental paper trail requirements
• Maintain Human Resource Information System (HRIS) records as required
• Maintain all training paperwork for food safety and health and safety protocols and training as required
• Track labor and cost efficiencies using enterprise and similar systems
• Ensuring that a full understanding and processes are all within compliance with USDA, FDA, CFIA, OHSA, ESA, DOT,
• MDOT, Human Rights Commission, and MOL, WSIB

Communication:

• Maintain constant and daily communication with Procurement/Sales department and other support staff departments that require regular input from the warehouse department
• Communicate with external suppliers, labor workforces, consultants, when required when needed or under the guidance of the President

Reporting Duties

• Responsible for ensuring and reporting of reoccurring daily task checklists of department operations to appropriate management and other identified company employees as identified in department specific operations policies and procedures
• Responsible for weekly warehouse operations report to the President which shall include department issues, staffing concerns, production output, etc.
• Responsible for department reporting at regularly schedule SMG meetings
• Responsible for the yearly review and reporting of department expectations, goals, and objectives as identified together with the President
• Responsible for presenting the quarterly and yearly budget metrics achieved or surpassed

Work Conditions

• Able to physically inspect company property and assets

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in business, with focus on manufacturing, warehousing, transportation, supply chain management,
• inventory control, or materials management
• 6+ years of direct work experience in a produce or food based warehouse management function of supply chain management
