We are currently searching for a Director of Operations to join our team in Leamington, Ontario.
The Director of Operations is responsible for the direct management and handling of all warehousing and distribution functions with facilities in Canada. This includes accountability for inbound and outbound freight, as well as adherence to legislative requirements, food and health safety, and organizational policies and procedures.
The Director of Operations will accomplish effective warehouse oversight through inspirational leadership and decision-making skills and will be responsible for the overall Operations P&L.
- 10-15 Years of warehouse management experience
- Warehouse experience in Canada
- Proven ability to be strategic and able to get hands dirty with his/her team
- Strong interpersonal leadership and communication skills (both oral and written)
- Post-secondary Degree in Business or Engineering related program preferred
- Strong relationship building and management skills with vendors, suppliers, internal customers etc.
- Strategic planning with the executive team for short-term and long-term goals
- Provide engaging leadership to the Operations team; developing and guiding his/her team member to work effectively together to achieve team goals
- Be an integral partner with Sales and Supply to meet customer expectations
- Plan, implement and monitor the day-to-day operations for the warehousing function, including analyzing operating data and reports, determining manpower needs and monitoring adherence to standards to ensure business plan objectives are met or exceeded
- Plan warehouse layout and space requirements in order to prevent loss or damage, and to achieve full warehouse optimization
- Develop and/or enforce corporate policies regarding security and safety in order to maintain a safe working environment
- Manage an annual budget or capital investment plan for warehousing functions across the organization
- Drive the warehouse management team, including involvement in the recruitment and selection process of new employees, assigning work, providing training and development, evaluating performance, and building a motivated, effective team to ensure that organizational goals for diversity, career development, productivity, performance management and employee involvement are met
