Our client, John Vena, Inc. is seeking an Account Manager.

John Vena, Inc., founded in 1919, is a fourth generation, family owned and operated specialty produce distributor.  The company operates from the newly opened Philadelphia Wholesale Produce Market on Essington Ave. in Philadelphia, PA.

John Vena, Inc. sources product from around the world and around the corner.  Dealing in high-end specialty items including fresh herbs, greenhouse vegetables, peppers, tomatoes, tropical fruits, and baby vegetables, the mission of John Vena, Inc. is to provide its customers with the highest quality products and service available. John Vena, Inc. is currently seeking an Account Manager who will be responsible for identifying potential customers, developing programs for profitable sales, and acquiring and managing new accounts. The Account Manager provides general and specific market intelligence and also develops new distribution channels and market opportunities for John Vena, Inc.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Making initial contact with new prospects via calls, drop-ins and face-to-face meetings.
  • Networking with potential buyers via networking groups, trade shows, presentations and training, etc.
  • Contributing to overall John Vena, Inc. marketing effort via new ideas, market intelligence and buying patterns/trends.
  • Acting as a resource to prospects and customers regarding the products and quality provided by John Vena, Inc.
Education: 
  • College degree required
Skills: 
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Proficient in computer use (Microsoft Office);
  • Strong interpersonal skills
Qualifications: 
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years’ experience in wholesale sales preferred
  • Produce or perishable product experience preferred
