Our office is looking to hire a Truck Broker who has an entrepreneurial spirit and is aiming to grow their existing customer base.

The ideal candidate is someone with a background in produce transportation, who is looking to grow in their career and better serve their existing customers. We want to give our new broker the best tools and support staff to develop new business that will propel their career to the next level.

As a Truck Broker you will be working in a fast paced environment to ensure cargo is delivered on the most effective route, and arrives at the destination safely and on-time. You are responsible for coordinating with the companies looking to move products from one place to another.

The ideal candidate is someone with a background in produce transportation, who is looking to grow in their career and better serve their existing customers. We want to give our new broker the best tools and support staff (with a combined +50 years of produce transport experience) to develop new business that will propel their career to the next level.

The most successful freight brokers delight in solving the puzzle of coordinating among buyers, sellers, and carriers, and welcome the challenge of juggling any shifts to get the job done right. Also, they appreciate the opportunity to seek out new customers and earn money on every load, and see the earnings potential as unlimited!

Our agents are paid the highest commissions in the industry. This position will earn 100% of commissions, with a temporary draw on salary to help cover initial expenses. We also have a great benefit plan that includes 401k, health insurance and paid vacation.

Requirements: 
  • Prior produce and dispatch/brokerage experience in sales, 3-5 years highly desirable
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make sound decisions and solve problems
  • Comprehensive understanding of market conditions and needs of customers
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills, and ability to handle conflict
  • Familiarity with scheduling, dispatch shipping and receiving
  • Applicant must be team-work oriented, hard-working, responsible, dedicated, and focused on details
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks, work well with others, and thrive while working in a fast-paced environment
  • 7-days a week operation, must be flexible in hours
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus

Our office is located in Satellite Beach, Florida. This gem of a city is located just one hour east of Orlando International Airport, and only 15 minutes from Melbourne International Airport. The area is close enough to visit the theme parks and attractions, but far enough away to escape the traffic and inland humidity. Temperatures average 90 °F in the summer months and 73 °F in the winter months!

Satellite Beach is in the Palm Bay–Melbourne–Titusville Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is among a collection of towns situated along Florida’s “Space Coast” (the most famous being nearby Cocoa Beach) where you can view Cape Canaveral in the distance and watch rockets launch into the sky. Situated in Brevard Country between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River, the housing prices are very reasonable, and the close-knit community and pace of life offer great work-life balance that is especially rare in the transportation industry. The coastal area is filled with engineers, university students, soldiers at Patrick Air Force Base, and a number of companies focused on engineering, aerospace, healthcare and tourism industries.  It has great restaurants, cultural activities, live music and lots of water activities to enjoy.     

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Responsible for coordinating shipments across North America
  • Generate leads through existing business, cold calling and networking activities
  • Leverage your past customer base to bring clients and carriers to Jerue
  • Build relationships with new customers through your extraordinary communication skills
  • Generate a contact base of carriers
  • Negotiate rates between customers and carriers
  • Screen for proper authority, insurance, safety requirements and maintain proper paperwork
  • Responsible for meeting gross profit targets
