We offer white, brown, specialty, wild, and dried mushrooms, as well as value-added fully-prepared mushrooms for retail supermarkets and both produce and foodservice distributors and operators.
We are currently seeking an Operations Manager to join our employee-centric, highly engaged team at To-Jo Mushrooms in Avondale, PA. This position will be responsible for coordinating and supervising all daily packaging activities according to company policies and procedures. Provide strong leadership while fostering an employee engagement environment. Provide support and guidance to ensure food quality standards, safety guidelines, and customer expectations are met.
- Minimum of 5 years of management, produce and cold chain management experience required
- Demonstrated knowledge of managing safety and/or quality programs and processes
- Operational understanding of warehouse/logistics processes
- Microsoft Office experience required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
- Responsible for maintaining and improving Packaging Line efficiencies.
- Manage Packaging Supply inventories. Maintain inventory accuracy, including daily and weekly inventory counts.
- Manage packing employees’ schedules. Supervise, coordinate and evaluate work of line supervisors.
- Fosters a culture of appreciation and team work, coaches and motivates team.
- Communicates production requirements daily and ensures goals are achieved.
- Interviews prospective employees, makes recommendations on new hires, onboard and trains new hires, conducts performance evaluations, manages disciplinary actions.
- Recommend improvements to work methods or procedures and implement approved changes. Consults with others in management team.
- Oversees work progress to verify safety or conformance standards.
- Schedules daily Fresh Packing activities. Directs all activities for all production lines and sanitation across shifts in accordance with plan and line goals, safety and product standards, costs, budgets, manpower and established procedures.
- Use problem solving skills and root cause analysis to resolve and/or migrate operational issues.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
