Job Description:
J & J Family of Farms began over 30 years ago, and has grown from a regional distributor to a best in its class grower shipper of mixed vegetables with a national sales footprint. Our Family of Farms are strategically located throughout the United States, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
We are currently looking for a Transportation Broker to join our team in Loxahatchee, FL.
The Transportation Broker is responsible for directing the third-party logistics of moving our product from its point of origin to its final destination using land carriers. You will assume responsibility for every aspect of the shipment, and may use sophisticated computer systems to track shipments for multiple customers.

Requirements:
- Prior produce experience in sales, 3-5 years highly desirable
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent, preferred
- Prior Logistics experience and knowledge, preferred
- Strong customer service background
- Computer proficiency in Word and Excel
- Critical thinker with strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to multitask
- Highly motivated with a desire to be successful
- Comprehensive understanding of market conditions
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Resourceful and effective negotiation skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Responsibilities & Duties:
- New Business Development
- Proactively creating opportunities for additional sales with new and existing customers
- Seek to improve sales revenue in line with established sales targets
- Maintain complete and accurate records of all sales, customers & vendors
- Track and update shipment status to customers
- Manage multiple pick-ups and deliveries
- Respond to customer concerns and queries professionally
- Use tools and relationships to identify potential carriers
- Verify carrier safety and other qualifications
- Make intelligent and tactful negotiation of rates and services
- Must be able to effectively communicate service expectations to carriers
