Requirements: 
  • 3+ years of FOB/produce sales experience, with proven track record in customer engagement
  • Bachelor degree preferred, or equivalent produce experience
  • Possess strong connections with a current customer base in produce
  • Enthusiastic self-starter that can hit the ground running
  • Strong Analytical skills and the ability to make sound decisions and problem-solve
  • Self-motivated with strong business ethic.
  • Outstanding organization and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills 
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Support and Grow Jacobs Farm/Del Cabo Sales
    • FOB sales, develop retail contracts, set ad lids, develop seasonal contracts, and timely promotions
    • Develop and maintain customer relationships, focusing on current sales and long-term development opportunities
    • Leverage your network of relationships to develop new markets for our products and brands
  • Identify and develop market opportunities, by product type and market type
    • Retail Chains
    • Single/Multi Store
    • Wholesalers, Distributor, and Foodservice
    • Other unique local market opportunities
  • Engage in Commodity Manager Assignments—“know your market” and take the lead tracking and moving inventory of your commodities, supporting your fellow sales team members to move product for optimum pricing and minimal waste.
  • Work with planning and farming departments to forecast and maximize sales opportunities and minimize waste
  • Sell all items across entire company product line, including Jacobs Farm California Local Production
  • Keep regular work hours in the Santa Cruz Sales office, with travel to accounts, production, and operations locations
  • Monitor competitors, market conditions and product development opportunities
  • Work with our NPD team (new product development) to explore new pack style or product opportunities
