Distribution and Transportation Manager

Job Description: 

We are looking for a Distribution and Transportation Manager to join our team in New Castle, Delaware. 

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Provide excellent customer and sales team service for delivered orders
  • Coordinate and book all DDP/FOB orders and internal transfers, both FTL and LTL
  • Maximize cost efficiencies and reductions
  • Trace and provide Updates to Sales Team on all Delivered orders, ETAs, Delivery Confirmations, PODs
  • Set up customer delivery appointments as required
  • Confirm and negotiate pricing and select carriers
  • Coordinate Inbound/imported loads with Customs Brokers and Global Operations Team as well as handle minimal re-exports to Canada (Phytos, COSs, FVW 205s)
  • Utilize online systems for inbound load tracking and updates
  • Work with Warehouse Manager and QC staff  on truck movements in/out of warehouse
  • Coordinate FOB orders with outside carriers  
  • Confirm and submits orders to remote warehouses, carriers, coordinating with warehouse staff
  • Enter and Approve AR/AP charges in Famous, cost tracking, billing approvals
  • Manage carrier and transportation claims
  • Manage product diversion in cases of rejected loads
  • 2 to 3 years experience in transportation or related experience
  • Associates Degree in Business Management or related major or work experience
  • Knowledge of Famous Software a plus
  • Must be computer and technology literate with the ability to learn new systems
  • Knowledge of air and ocean freight a plus
  • Knowledge of perishable transportation a plus
  • Knowledge of transportation documentation and shipping guidelines
  • Ability to follow written procedures
  • Must be able to write and read English and communicate effectively
  • Ability to act independently and make competent decisions without supervision
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Be efficient at multi-tasking
