HPL-Apollo, LLC is headquartered in Los Angeles, California, and focuses primarily on providing logistics solutions for perishable products. HPL-APOLLO is a joint venture between Hellmann Worldwide Logistics and Apollo Freight, a subsidiary of Mercury Air Group. We benefit from our relationship with Mercury's strong presence at Los Angeles International Airport, being the only company operating both on- an off-airport refrigerated facilities.
We are currently looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to be based in southern California. This individual will be responsible for supervising Warehouse Agents and Lead Agents in handling cargo for both import and export operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Direct Warehouse Agents and Lead Agents to meet business needs.
- Ensure Warehouse Agents and Lead Agents are following safety rules and ensuring safety standards are in place. Communicate any safety issue or property damage immediately to a manager. Wear a safety vest at all times while working, walking or operating equipment.
- Assist Warehouse Manager in creating and adjusting employee schedules to ensure appropriate operational coverage to meet customer requirements at all times.
- Assist management in hiring, employee relations and/or conflict resolution, prepare performance appraisals, provide input for counseling and terminations.
- Ensure Warehouse Agents and Lead Agents operate forklift and all related equipment, subsequent to certification that appropriate training has been completed.
- Assist management in hiring, employee relations and/or conflict resolution, prepare performance appraisals, provide input for counseling and terminations.
- Demonstrate diligence required to maintain security under Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and United States Customs/Border Protection (USCBP) Regulations. You will challenge any and all persons not displaying an I.D. badge within the Designated Screening Area (DSA).
- 3 years of experience in freight forwarding/perishables as a Lead or Supervisor
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must possess clean driving record and valid driver’s license (DMV print-out required).
- Must provide proof of the legal right to work in the United States such as: passport, birth certificate or work permit/visa.
- Must have at least one year experience as warehouse agent with proven success.
Physical Demands/ Work Environment:
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Tolerate moderate to loud levels of noises within the work environment.
- Will be required to work in cold storage areas, as assigned.
- Stand and remain standing for periods up to 3 hours without sitting.
- Demonstrate daily a fitness for obligation without impairment due to illegal drugs, sleep deprivation, medication, or alcohol.
- May be required to work all of the following: irregular hours and/or shifts, including split-shifts; holidays and weekend, overtime and extended hours.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Desired):
- English proficiency (e.g., reading, writing, speaking, listening)
- Spanish proficiency a plus.

- Knowledge of airline codes, prefixes, common cargo abbreviations a plus.
- Comprehension of Bill of Ladings (BOL) and airbills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to prepare written documents, communications and counseling notices.
- Ability to follow instructions from manager(s) in the warehouse and office .
- Ability to act in supervisory position and give direction to leads and warehouse agents.
- Ability to work as an effective team member in a leadership role.
