Requirements: 
• A minimum of two years’ experience in professional horticulture
• An Associate Degree or higher in agriculture or a related field, preferred. 
• Experience with HACCP/GFSI, a plus
• Practical knowledge of MS Office 2007 applications
• Bilingual, some Spanish required
• A valid driver’s license
 

 

 

Responsibilities & Duties: 

The Assistant Greenhouse Grower will excel in growing hydroponic crops of the highest quality in the most efficient way, in collaboration with other production team members and will be responsible for or assisting in:

  • Climate and irrigation management (climate computer)
  • Explaining and demonstrating proper horticulture techniques
  • Scouting for pests and diseases
  • Troubleshooting of growing, harvesting and packing equipment malfunctions
  • Fertility management: Analyzing soil, water, and leaves to determine type and quantity of fertilizer required for maximum production.
  • Adjusting fertilizer programs based on soil, solution and leaf tissue analysis.
  • Participating in the company’s Research and Development projects related to growing and equipment.
  • Supervising, training, and coaching of a small team.
