We are in search of an energetic, dynamic, and enthusiastic candidate to come on board as our Food Safety Program Manager for our Los Angeles location.
Our Los Angeles location is an independent Quality Unit that is responsible for implementing, and managing food safety and regulatory compliance policies/procedures for a produce processing facility.
As the Food Safety Program Manager you will be responsible for responsible for developing and overseeing all of the food safety regulations, policies, and procedures along with all aspects of quality control.
- Minimum 2-4 years of college courses in Agribusiness or Science disciplines preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Food Safety inspection.
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
- Effective problem solver with the ability to work independently.
- Ensure company compliance with formal product recovery and recall procedures.
- Experience in food safety, HACCP, GMP, USDA, FDA, and working with State and third-party inspection.
- Possess strong leadership skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must have the ability to make sound decisions, capable of communicating and reporting functions both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with employees, customers, vendors and management.
- Microsoft Office skills: Excel, Power Point and Word.
- The ability to make technical decisions and recommendations relative to the microbiological and analytical quality of the manufacturing facility and products is required.
- Requires availability outside of normal business hours as necessary, such as weekend and evenings.

- Responsible for executing policies, procedures, and programs that assure products are developed, and manufactured, with superior quality and compliant with in-house specifications and all applicable legal and regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for assuring that appropriate controls and quality systems are in place and upheld for all products.
- Responsible for compliance with applicable FDA, GMP and Corporate QA policies, procedures, standards, and specifications.
- Responsible for building continuous quality improvement into processes and systems in order to manufacture products that meet or exceed Harvest Sensations customer's expectations.
- Develop and maintain a successful quality organization through selection, training, leadership, motivation, teamwork, coaching, and effective problem resolution, routinely keeping plant management informed about product quality.
- Manage daily and weekly product evaluations, interfacing, as needed, with the FDA and USDA on production, sampling, labeling, and inspections to assure compliance with company specifications and government regulations.
- Work with the Sales Department and customers to provide information and assistance on quality issues.
- Development of written procedures (SOPs) and complete documentation of results.
- Continuously analyze and implement process improvement procedures.
- Ensure current vendors at assigned facility are in compliance with Food Safety documentation.
