Guardian Harvest is a Food Safety Consulting company, partnering with local growers to implement successful food safety programs. Our commitment is to our growers; when our growers succeed, we all succeed. We manage both independent growers and producer group accounts and assist them with obtaining GlobalG.A.P. Certification.
We are currently looking for an Agriculture Food Safety Specialist to join our team of Food Safety Specialists in Kingsburg, California. We are looking for an individual who works well in a fast paced environment and is able to work towards and meet deadlines. The successful candidate will need prior experience in Quality or Food Safety related fields. As a Food Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and validating all food safety policies and procedures including but not limited to internal programs.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Learn and understand all Global G.A.P. Food Safety programs
- Work with a team of food safety consultants to effectively and efficiently manage grower accounts
- Manage daily grower meetings; strong communication skills are required
- Perform quality checks in accordance with our GlobalG.A.P. Food Safety Grower guidelines
- Ability to communicate effectively with growers, harvest crews and general farm labor contractors
- May have to provide food safety and hygiene training to farm labor
- Other duties as directed by supervisors
- Must be passionate about delivering excellent customer service
Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma or GED
- Degree in food science or agricultural related preferred, not required
- Clean Driving record as well as reliable vehicle
- Strong interest in Food Safety and knowledge of production agriculture, a plus
- Previous experience with Food Safety, a plus
- Familiarization with GlobalG.A.P., a plus
- CPR and First-Aid certification, a plus
- Any agricultural related certifications preferred, but not required
- Able to work well in a team oriented environment
- Critical thinker with strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills
- Highly motivated with a strong desire to succeed
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make ethical and sound decisions
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Proven ability to prioritize and multitask
- Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
