Guan’s Mushroom Co. is one of the leading national growers and distributors of fresh specialty mushrooms. This multi-site business was established in 1995 and is headquartered in Los Angeles, CA. We have sales and distribution facilities in San Francisco, Pennsylvania, New York & Toronto, Canada.
We are looking for an energetic and self-motivated team player to drive forward our production capacity and market share.
This team player will be a full-time Quality Control/Food Safety Associate in Commerce, CA.
A successful candidate will have practical experience in both a quality control/food safety environment and a food processing facility, with the ability to solve problems through innovative ideas in a never ending and changing environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in the QC and food safety environment.
- Able to work in a team environment and relate well with co-workers and branch managers.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Able to adapt to changes.
- Strong attention to detail, organized, and highly motived.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
- Bachelor degree in agriculture or public health/safety field is a plus, but not required.

- Responsible for the overall daily implementation and management of the QC program.
- Visit fields to inspect and enforce good practices of fresh produce, including workplace sanitation, food handling and labeling, temperature, storage, pest control, and security.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive and ongoing QC program to meet food regulatory compliance and company standards.
- Review QC/food safety reports and outline mandatory and scheduled personnel training.
- Recommend corrective actions to improve workflow and maximize results.
- Maintain detailed records of QC/food safety reports.
- Work closely with branch managers to ensure good food practices in the field.
- Interact with regulatory agencies or auditors.
