Night Production Supervisor

Job Description: 

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for supervision of department team members, responsible for monitoring the production floor, for directing, coordinating, and executing the activities of production. The individual in this role must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment, must spend 80% of the time inside the production floor mainly focused on ensuring that the production schedule is executed in a timely manner and within all quality parameters. They will provide guidance, instruction, direction and leadership to the production group.

  • Available to work a flexible schedule including, nights, weekends and overtime as required.
  • Communicate special instructions or possible issues to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.

  • Willing and capable to work long hours as necessary.
  • Self-starter, ability to work independently as well as with team members and management.
  • Terminate/ Lay off Employees.
  • Reconcile and approve all general labor time off request forms.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Plan and establish work schedules and assignments. Assist manager in production sequence planning to meet production goals and provide superior customer service.
  • Complete and analyze weekly departmental performance reports.
  • Manage, document and implement new and improved processes and train staff for effective execution.
  • Ensure team members take scheduled breaks and lunches and finish shifts on time.
  • Address and correct employee performance issues promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure employees work in a safe manner, that equipment is properly maintained to operate safely and that hazards are promptly identified and corrected.
  • Inspect materials, products and equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
  • Request materials, supplies, equipment parts or repair services.
  • Participate in Operations staff meetings and weekly tailgate meetings
  • Train new employees and coach existing employees.
  • Investigate and report all incidents. (accidents, poor performance, EE Complaints )
  • Suggest cost-saving ideas.
  • Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
  • Ensure that production schedule is completed on time.
  • Ensure that product is prepped and packed as directed.
Education: 
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook).

Work Environment:

Working conditions consist of regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, a cold, wet floor manufacturing environment (34-36 degrees F).
