Inventory Specialist

Job Description: 

Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type, and value of raw material, equipment, or supplies stocked in establishment: Counts raw material or supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory records, manually or using computer. Compares inventories to office records or computes figures from records, such as sales orders, production records, or purchase invoices to obtain current inventory. Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count, or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type, and value of raw material or supplies stocked in establishment.
  • Counts material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies in stock and posts totals to inventory excel spreadsheet, using computer.
  • Works closely with Quality Control to examine all raw materials received for defects.
  • Labels all the raw materials received with date to be able to follow FIFO rule.

Education: 
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook).
Work Environment:
  • Working conditions consist of exposure to outdoor weather conditions, a cold, wet food manufacturing environment (34-36 F degrees) with the smell of chlorine, the presence of heavy machinery and forklift traffic, and loud noises.
