We are currently looking for a Ranch Foreman to join our team and work with the Assistant Farm Manager in managing all aspects of farming in the Holtville area.
As the Ranch Foreman you will oversee the ground preparation, cultivation, and injection of fertilizers. You are responsible for managing the efficient use of labor force and maintain the company’s quality and quantity standards for finished product. You will interact with other Department Managers to facilitate coordination of work in the Holtville or surrounding area.
- Must have five years’ experience in conventional farming.
- Ability to communicate and coordinate with all levels of employees.
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
- Position requires employee to live and work in the Holtville or immediate surrounding area.
- Must have strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees.
- Must be computer literate.
- Supervisory or equivalent experience required.
- Must be knowledgeable of company policies.
- Bi-lingual a plus. ‘
- Must be available to work most weekends.
- Coordinate with Department Managers to ensure execution of the farming plan.
- Assure implementation of soil tillage and crop management programs to maximize yields.
- Manage tractor drivers and irrigators; ensure proper training; manage performance.
- Enforce all safety and food safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with all labor laws, audits or food safety, company policy and workers safety.
- Maintain a well-organized, clean and safe work environment.
- Assist the Assistant Farm Manager with special projects as needed.
