Quality Assurance Supervisor (Cal Organic)

Job Description: 

To oversee product quality and food safety programs. Coordinate and perform internal plant audits, help prepare for outside audits, at multiple facilities and ranches.  Develop and implement new and evolving quality assurance and food safety procedures as needed. Responsible for reviewing and maintaining HACCP plans, SSOP’s, GMP’s and other pre-requisite programs. Conduct annual Food Safety training to all personal.  Conduct other tasks as directed by Quality Control/Assurance Director.
 

Position Reports to: 
Director of QA & Food Safety
Requirements: 
  • Work in wet and damp environment. 
  • Exposed to outdoor given climate. 
  • Continuous standing, walking, use of both hands for grasping, pulling and pushing. 
  • Walking on even and uneven surfaces; including stairs and ladders, sight, hearing, sitting, bending, twisting, stooping, climbing, reaching forward, reaching overhead and below the shoulders.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Supervise quality assurance/control personnel.
  • Conduct training in HACCP.
  • Perform plant audits at multiple locations. 
  • Write procedures for Organic handling. 
  • Must be able to communicate with various departments regarding special orders (shipping, production and sales). 
  • Ensure and protect security and confidentiality of company information at all times. 
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. 
  • Conduct studies as requested by Quality control/assurance Director.
Education: 
  • Four-year degree in Biology, Food Science or related field preferred but not required in lieu of direct experience.
Qualifications: 
  • Must have knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety Law. 
  • Must be able to write procedures, update existing and create new Food Safety manuals. 
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality about all aspects of the job at all times. 
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Bilingual preferred. 
  • Must pass pre-placement drug/alcohol screen and have a valid CA Driver’s license.
