We are currently looking for a Micro Lab Supervisor in Bakersfield, CA.

As the Micro Lab Supervisor you are responsible for providing direction and leadership to Micro Lab Techs to ensure that standard operating procedures are being followed.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience directly related to the essential job functions.
  • General knowledge of food science is necessary to supervise the analysis of samples.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and policies is necessary to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with a history of successful team building. 
  • Must have knowledge of food testing, job safety and other related duties.
  • Planning and organization skills are required to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to investigate and analyze information to draw conclusions. 
  • Word processing and data entry skills. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish and English, both orally and in writing preferred, not essential.
  • Ability to see a job through to completion. 
  • Ability to maintain high quality standards without supervision.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Oversee time clock edits. 
  • Arrange and document work schedules for technicians so that analyses are accurately completed to maintain effective and efficient operations.
  • Develop and maintain a teamwork environment.
  • Assist technicians with analysis tasks as needed to ensure timely results.
  • Troubleshoot and suggest solutions to quality or Food Safety problems.
  • Develop, train and assess the performance of subordinates.
  • Provide recommendations to management in relation to laboratory compliance. 
  • Maintain laboratory documentation system.
  • Read, calculate and record analysis data to produce a report.
  • Ensure security and confidentiality of company information at all times.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
