We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Professional in the food production industry.  We are seeking a Director of Quality Assurance who will be responsible for the QA programs at multiple vegetable packing facilities in the Bakersfield California area.  Responsibilities will include managing the processes, procedures and staff of a quality assurance team that is dedicated to ensuring the highest quality standards in the industry.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science, Biology or related field.  Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in a Quality Assurance role with knowledge of fresh and frozen vegetable production.
  • Ability to effectively communicate across all departments and levels of the company.
  • Exceptional writing skills both in technical and personal correspondence.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with regulatory agencies, HACCP programs and GMP development and enforcement.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as necessary. (Approximately 10%)
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Influence quality and productivity improvements through involvement in the development of new and improved procedures, process innovations, and changes in operational culture.
  • Manage all Quality Assurance procedures and document control strategies.
  • Recruit, develop, train and mentor a highly functional quality assurance team at multiple facilities.
  • Manage regulatory interaction associated with food safety and quality.
  • Manage customer and 3rd party audits as well as further develop an internal audit program.
  • Oversee and assist in interaction with customer and consumer complaints.
  • Provide technical and scientific assistance for product development.
  • Address sanitation and GMP deviations on an immediate and ongoing basis.
  • Oversee a finished product sampling program to ensure exceptional quality product to our customers.
