Produce Sales Person

Job Description: 

We are a diverse company with a full line whole produce operation in Dallas, Texas.  Currently we are trying to fill a sales position at our newly expanded operation in the New Orleans, Louisiana market.  The sales person should have a good working knowledge of the wholesale produce sales a distribution business, preferably in the New Orleans market area.  The responsibilities include: developing new customers, building relationships, doing good clean ethical business.  We are a strong growing company that is expanding into a new market. Requirements: 
  • 3 to 5 years of wholesale produce sales experience
  • Must be computer literate
  • Flexibility in hours
  • Bilingual is a plus but not required
  • We prefer a 4 year degree – but it is not required
 
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Daily sales and pricing development
  • Working with the transportation department to facilitate timely customer deliveries
  • Introducing new produce items to our customer base
  • Coordinate with accounting and purchasing in order to service our customer base at the highest level
  • Build strong relationships with customers, staff, and vendors
  • Communicate market trends and availability with customers
  • Build a strong diverse customer base: retail, wholesale, jobbers, and foodservice
