Sales and Business Development Manager

Job Description: 

We are searching for a Sales and Business Development Manager to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA.

As the Sales and Business Development Manager you will be working with our sales and marketing groups, with the goal of expanding our business. You will be responsible for maintaining and expanding our customer base among national, regional/independent retailers, foodservice distributors and wholesalers.

The Sales and Business Development Manager will be a strong communicator and analytical thinker with an extensive background in produce sales. You will work effectively with the team as a leader and team member, and will excel at building professional relationships and being the go to person.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree a plus.
  • 5+ years’ experience in sales, with proven track record in customer engagement and cultivation, from initial contact through final agreement.
  • Negotiation experience a plus.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication & negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work with shippers/brokers as needed to maintain our customers’ needs.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and Gourmet Trading’s ERP software.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Expand our growth opportunities with existing retail, foodservice and wholesales accounts.
  • Ensure that customer needs are being fulfilled while maintaining company objectives.
  • Operate in a team environment while working closely with the Sales/Logistics Teams.
  • Build and sustain relationships at multiple levels within customer’s organizations.
  • Effective account management including: profitable sales; customer service; price and volume management (market, ad/lid, and contracts, open); price and volume forecasting; reporting and performance review/monitoring.
  • Participate in sales department, inter-departmental, and company-wide meetings.
  • Inventory Management in Multiple warehouse.
  • Manage AR portfolios and Credit Limit.
  • Work with all other departments: Quality Control, Operations, Production, Procurement, Accounting and others to maintain a high level of efficiency and excellence.
