Quality Assurance Coordinator

Job Description: 

Performs duties related to all Quality Assurance programs. The QA Coordinator manages staff schedules while working in an administrative assistant capacity in addition to Quality Assurance coordination.  The QA Coordinator maintains and updates records and documentation.

Position Reports to: 
Quality Assurance Manager
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Developing standards, maintaining and implementing programs to improve quality
  • Maintaining Product Specification Sheets for processed items
  • Establishing and maintaining appropriate Quality Programs
  • Actively contributing to the data collection, trend analysis, investigations and improvements to quality process, products and systems
  • Constant communication with Quality Assurance Manager, Quality Assurance Supervisor and Technicians on any updates
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with departmental personnel
  • Assist in writing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
  • Scheduling meetings and trainings
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager in working with outside suppliers to comply with our Approved Supplier Program
  • Assuring compliance to in-house specifications and standards to include HACCP, SQF Standards, Organic Standards, Food Safety Guidelines and GMP’s
  • To facilitate the creation of reports, forms and graphs for the QA Department
  • To maintain inventory of all supplies needed by QA, Sanitation and Janitorial departments
  • To work on and complete projects assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager
Skills: 
  • Ability to plan and complete projects set forth by the Quality Assurance Manager
  • Ability to stay organized while multi-task and to prioritize tasks
  • Understanding and ability to effectively communicate Quality Standards
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office and Internet applications
  • Detail oriented and analytical skills
  • Capable to read, write, and understand policies and guidelines, specifications and safety standards

Education & Qualifications:

  • High School degree, diploma or a GED equivalent qualification from accredited institution
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in a facility or related field in Quality Assurance or Quality Control
  • Minimum 2-3 years of office and administrative experience
  • Must be highly organized and diverse
