Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer in Las Vegas, Nevada. The successful incumbent should have 3-5 years experience and have a broad spectrum of experience in electrical wiring, troubleshooting and repairing, PLC’s, pneumatics, conveyors and hydraulics. A background in the food processing industry is a plus.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Maintain and repair all production equipment: conveyor systems, electrical and mechanical; including diagnosing complex equipment problems while following all safety rules (GMP’s)
- Perform preventative maintenance on all processing equipment as well as forklift and pallet jacks
- Service equipment correctly on the 1st attempt as required (manufacturer’s specifications) and avoid unnecessary down-time
- Dismantle and reassemble equipment in a timely manner
- Setup and install new equipment using complex leveling equipment
- Handling of chemicals for support equipment operation
- Fabrication and manufacturing of equipment for production needs: product and process piping, sanitary equipment, chemical lines, pneumatic lines
- Documentation of all schematic and diagram changes to keep plant records current
- Other job duties or special projects as assigned by Facilities Manager
Education:
- 3-5 years experience; production setting involving electronics, electrical and general mechanics
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification from a known Technical School
Qualifications:
- Must be able to speak, read and write English
- Basic computation/math skills required
- Not a supervisory position but must have experience as supervisor; work independently
- Must comply with ALL safety protocols and procedures, efficient manner
- Maintain clean work area and organized (including maintenance tools)
- Must be able to adapt with all sorts of co-workers and have a team spirit attitude
Working Environment
- Approximately 90% of job function is performed on the production floor and 10% in a shop setting
- Extreme working temperatures
- Occasional sitting, frequent standing and walking, frequent climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, bending and crouching (may be required to work in tight work areas)
- Lifting up to 60lbs
- Occasional pushing/pulling a variety of objects while using mechanic tools and equipment; frequent twisting, turning, frequent reaching-reaching at or above shoulder level at various times
