General Produce Company is an 82 year old family-owned produce distributor seeking a Sales Manager-Retail to identify and develop new retail business and maximize sales in existing retail accounts, as well as, develop and maintain relationships with all key retail customers. - Excellent sales and customer service skills.
- Proven sales managerial success in the fresh produce industry.
- Strong team building, leadership, and supervisory skills to effectively lead, coach, inspire, and maintain an energetic successful retail sales force.
- Fluent in MS Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Establishes & implements strategy to drive retail and military sales and profitability through an annual plan.
- Develops goals, objectives, strategies and outcomes for the Outside Retail Sales staff and Retail Merchandisers, consistent with the Sales Department and General Produce.
- Develops, monitors and achieves the department’s annual budget and performance goals through sales targets, retail strategy, forecasted sales numbers and expense control.
- Effectively communicates with team members to drive sales through team meetings, customers’ visits, product knowledge and retail services.
- Makes effective use of market research.
- Responds quickly to changing market conditions, and develops and explores new market opportunities.
Education:
- College degree in business or related field preferred.
- A minimum of three years’ experience successfully managing a fresh produce sales department.
