Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Manage the operational and fiscal activities of warehouse operations to include: staffing levels, budgets, and financial goals.
  • Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of warehouse operations.
  • Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement. Develop solutions to enhance efficiencies.
  • Member of the Senior Management Strategy Team and fully involved in company Strategy and Planning.
  • Manage and direct supervisory staff in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Coach and provide career development advice to staff.
  • Establish employee goals and conduct employee performance reviews.
  • Responsible for staff scheduling to include: work assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees, and shift rotations.
  • Assist staff to resolve complex or out of policy operational problems.
  • Coordinate with Human Resources for appropriate staffing levels.
  • Schedule and conduct department meetings.
  • Responsible to meet department productivity and quality goals.
  • Communicate with Leads, Supervisors, other Managers, and COO on Department operations.
  • Responsible for submitting requests for capital expenditures (all capital expenditures must be approved by the COO).
  • Collaborates with Human Resources to manage the Worker’s Safety program.
  • Must have knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and Food Safety, and be capable of overseeing the maintenance of these programs.
  • All other duties as assigned and/or required.
Education: 

Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) from four-year accredited college or university required; MBA preferred; and a minimum of 8 – 10 years experience with perishable warehouse management, especially in the areas of shipping & receiving, production and logistics (produce preferred).

Skills: 
  • Outstanding oral and written communication.
  • Should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word and Outlook). 
Ideal Candidate: 

This position oversees the daily activities in Shipping & Receiving, Production, Quality Assurance, Inventory Control & Food Safety and Logistics. The ideal candidate has experience in perishable distribution (produce preferred) and can assist the company in moving our operation to the next level of efficiency and teamwork.  Responsibilities include: the overall management of warehousing and distribution (“warehouse”) operations, which includes supporting the company strategy of continual process improvement (efficiency).
