We are currently searching for a Potato Sales Manager to manage our organic and conventional sales. This is a home/remote position within the U.S., preferably in Colorado.

As a Potato Sales Manager, you are responsible for sales, business development and coordinating those efforts with our current sales and production office. Primary attention will be new organic business, with a secondary attention on increasing our organic and conventional business with our current customer base.

You will report to the Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development, but will also interact with other departments as required, including the President and CEO.

The qualified candidate will possess 5 plus years of produce sales experience, with organic produce experience a bonus. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a track record of successful produce and/or organic produce sales.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 5 plus years of produce sales experience, with organic produce experience a bonus.
  • Able to demonstrate a track record of successful produce and/or organic produce sales.
  • Willingness to travel domestically, as needed.
  • Strong presentation and analytical skills.
  • Ability to build presentations and to close.
  • Experience in sales budgeting and P/L responsibilities.
  • Computer skills to include Word, Power Point and Excel.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of selling produce to retailers.
  • Fresh potato and/or organic produce experience a plus.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Increase sales with retail supermarkets that have an organic focus or initiative throughout the U.S. and Canada, and with Foodservice Distributors and Wholesalers that sell and distribute organic produce.
  • Successfully promote a customer-focused work ethic in tune with the company's core values and principles.
  • Negotiate contracts as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of market pricing, market trends, competitive actions, product needs, and customer base.
  • Work with all of the required internal resources to develop specific sales strategies for assigned customers.
  • Make recommendations for continued growth.
  • Effectively manage the opportunity pipeline; including provision of accurate forecasting, regular updates and active engagement at pipeline review meetings.
