We are looking for an organized and detail oriented professional to become our next Human Resources Assistant to handle the general HR duties for our Oxnard, CA offices.

We are hoping to find a team player with a positive attitude who can handle the delicate process of balancing the needs of management and the employees while maintaining strict confidentiality.

This is an entry level position and is a great opportunity for someone new to the field, but familiar with the general functions of HR who is ready and willing to put in the time to learn more and grow within the position.

Requirements: 
  • 1-2 years’ experience in HR preferred
  • Experienced with the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)
  • Comfortable learning new software quickly
  • Fluent in both Spanish and English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including a professional and diplomatic demeanor
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, and presentation
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Work Comp—make sure all incident reports are completed properly, report injuries to carrier, follow through on claims to completion, and submit paperwork for annual renewal of insurance
  • Time keeping—review employees’ timecards daily, correct errors, print timecards for employee signature, and pass hours on to the payroll department
  • Health insurance—complete enrollment process for eligible employees
  • Supply inventory—manage inventory of office supplies and general safety supplies for the company and order supplies, as needed
  • Onboarding—maintain applications, complete the orientation process for new employees, enter all personnel information into the HRIS, and add new employees to the timekeeping system
  • Performance management—provide performance evaluation forms for supervisors to complete
  • Training—present the company’s food safety training to produce employees, arrange annual safety training as required by law (pesticide application, tractors, CPR, etc.), prepare tailgate meeting topics, and maintain records of all training
  • Employee relations—help supervisors handle employee issues and complete investigations of harassment claims
  • Safety—complete self-audits of the work sites, participate in third-party audits, conduct monthly safety meetings with supervisors and the employee safety group
  • Help coordinate occasional company celebrations
  • Complete miscellaneous tasks for the owners, as needed
