We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Food Safety Manager to join our team.

As the Food Safety Manager, you are directly responsible for all Food Safety programs ensuring that we are in compliance with all regulations. You are also responsible for providing the technical expertise and management skills to administer the corporate strategy for: Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and other FDA/EPA regulations that pertain to the farming, harvesting, and distributing.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Food Safety inspection.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with employees, customers, vendors and management.
  • Effective problem solver with the ability to work independently.
  • Working knowledge of food safety, HACCP, GMP, USDA, FDA, and working with State and third-party inspections.
  • Possess strong leadership skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must have the ability to make sound decisions, capable of communicating and reporting functions both verbal and written.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Responsible for a QA technical & compliance system to assure food safety.
  • Evaluating/creating/auditing all programs and policies as needed for full certification according to the Global Food Safety (GFSI) standards.
  • Acts as Recall Manager.
  • Ensure facility/field compliance to any legal requirements and other applicable regulations.
  • Conduct Food Safety Audits with third party inspectors, USDA, FDA, DFA, County, City and Customer Inspector auditors.
  • Perform internal quality audits in the facility/field and implement corrective actions based on audit results.
  • Track and report audit results to QA, Operations, and Plant Manager.
  • Monitor and support all Food Safety Program activity (i.e. micro, environmental, foreign. material, pest control activity and other) using trend analysis.
  • Responsible for all Food Safety Document control.
  • Responsible for coordinating and documenting Food Safety Training Program.
  • Assist QA Manager in aligning processes and employee performances.
  • Develop, review and update standard operating procedures.
  • Support Sales Team in QA department projects.
  • Support other department Managers in audit projects and corrective actions.
  • Responsible for implementing and managing Traceability Systems.
  • Administrating Food Safety Information Data Base for Eclipse & various Customers.
