Job Description: 

Eagle Eye Produce is a premiere grower shipper with more than 30,000 acres under cultivation.  We grow in multiple states in the United States, as well as several locations in Mexico.  Our focus is to provide our customers with a year round supply of the products we grow.  These items include several potato varieties, organics, onions, watermelons, Nogales vegetables (tomatoes, peppers, squash, cucumbers), and table grapes. Additionally, we own and operate several state-of-the-art production facilities across the United States.  With Sales offices from New York to California, our team of experienced staff is dedicated to meeting our customer’s needs.

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Food Safety Manager to join our team in Idaho Falls, ID.

As the Food Safety Manager your primary responsibilities are to oversee all aspects of Food Safety in our new Fresh Cut facility. You will also be responsible for conducting and scheduling food safety audits, along with keeping supervisors and employees up-to-date on safety standards.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor degree in Microbiology or Food Safety required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Food Safety inspection.
  • Effective problem solver with the ability to work independently.
  • Ensure company compliance with formal product recovery and recall procedures.
  • Experience in GFSI Level 3, SQF, food safety, HACCP, GMP, USDA, FDA, and working with State and third-party inspection.
  • Possess strong leadership skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must have the ability to make sound decisions, capable of communicating and reporting functions both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with employees, customers, vendors and management. 
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Coordinate with management to establish controls and standards for food safety.
  • Implement and maintain all food safety related programs and standards for all operations.
  • Ensure that employees and managers have the required food safety training and are consistently working within food safety requirements.
  • Ensure that operations comply with federal, state, local, and specific customer and company food safety policies and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit all required reports and correspondence.
  • Identify, document, and report suggested corrective action for continuous compliance and improvement.
  • Inspect products and equipment for conformity to applicable regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate and lead all third-party food safety audits.
  • Report results of safety audits and submit recommendations for corrective action to management for approval, as appropriate.
  • Educate and advise management, and train employees on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and HACCP.
  • Ensure GAP’s and HACCP’s are always met.
  • Prepare and coordinate annual food safety training specific for supervisors and employees.
  • Audit and inspect all operations as required and whenever appropriate.
  • Full participation during food safety audits.
  • Performs all other duties and tasks, as assigned by management.
  • Ensure company compliance with formal product recovery and recall procedures.
