DLJ Produce was founded in 1993 with the goal of bridging the communication and building partnerships among growers, shippers, retailers and foodservice customers. Currently, DLJ Produce ships to more than 20 states and several countries, and has working relationships with more than 100 shippers around the world.
The DLJ Produce Import Program represents over 10 countries globally with year-round shipments available. The DLJ Produce Domestic Program, along with the Import Program allows DLJ to provide year-round fresh products featuring sales and marketing expertise to our many supply partners.
We are currently looking for a Sales Assistant in Long Beach, California. As Sales Assistant, you will provide the sales team with support and coordination.
The position requires a hands-on approach and close-collaboration with the sales, warehouse and transportation departments. You must possess excellent communication skills and be highly organized, as you will be responsible for working and communicating across different departments. You will take initiative and have excellent follow through skills.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- General sales team support
- Answer phone calls in a professional courteous manner and assist customers whenever appropriate
- Create daily reports,as needed
- Manage key steps in the ordering process for the sales team
- Support sales team with EDI order management
- Organize container shipments
- Schedule bookings and pickups
- Input, track and review sales orders and monitor inventory levels
- Order entry, billings
Requirements:
- Computer proficiency and knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook a must
- Strong analytical skills - with the ability to make sound decisions and problem solve
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, bilingual(Spanish) a plus
- Excellent inter-personal skills and phone etiquette
- Ability to start work early in the morning
- Enjoys a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to learn
- Strong work ethic, team player attitude, punctuality and job dedication
- Fresh produce (sales and/or production) experience a plus
- Knowledge of Famous Software is preferred
