Dimetri Gardikas Produce Company is a family owned and operated wholesale distributor of produce that was established in 1983. We are a leading distributor and packer of citrus and watermelon in Southern Ca.
We are currently seeking to hire a Sales Assistant in Santa Fe Springs, CA.
As the Sales Assistant you will provide the sales team with support and coordination.
This position requires a hands-on approach and close collaboration with the sales, warehouse, and transportation departments. You must possess excellent communication skills and be highly organized, as you will be responsible for working and communicating across different departments. You will take initiative and have excellent follow-through skills.
- Computer proficiency and knowledge of MS Excel, Word, Outlook
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make sound decisions and problem solve
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
- Excellent inter-personal skills and phone etiquette
- Ability to start work early in the morning
- Enjoys a fast paced environment
- Desire to develop new accounts and grow with the company
- Willingness to learn
- A strong work ethic, team player attitude, punctuality and job dedication
- Fresh produce (sales and/or production) experience a plus
- General sales team support
- Answer phone calls in a professional, courteous manner and assist customers whenever appropriate
- Create daily reports as directed
- Managing key steps in the ordering process for the sales team
- Supporting Sales team with EDI order-management
- After-hours sales support (phone and email)
- Developing new sales accounts and vendor relations
