Production Manager

Job Description: 

Dandrea Produce is seeking a Production Manager who is an energetic, motivated individual to manage several of its packing and production lines. 

The Production Manager is responsible for the coordinating, sorting and packing of over one million cartons of fresh produce yearly, and overseeing, implementing, and enforcing produce quality control standards within the repacking and production facility for the company. The Production Manager must possess leadership and managerial skills for effective change and build upon the existing program.  Along with direct oversight of the line supervisors in charge of packers, graders and general labor employees for the packing of the produce products, operating state-of-the-art sorting equipment, time-based production management, and the integration of modern food safety requirements

The position is full-time and year-round. Experience and/or education managing people is a must, along with computer knowledge and skills. Experience in the agricultural food packing/processing industry is preferred. Spanish-speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities & Duties: 

  • Oversee, direct, and manage all repacking / production control functions.
  • Develop, implement, and build upon the existing Repacking / Production program.
  • Interact with the sales office on a daily basis.
  • Manage Repacking / Production personnel in performing inspections, evaluations, and reporting of produce outputs.
  • Communicate with field managers concerning quality and conditions of produce.
  • Oversee all inspections, maintain accurate reporting and monitor all policies and regulations as defined by regulatory and Company defined food safety and sanitation standards, systems, procedures, and practices to ensure the highest quality of produce.

Requirements:

  • Conscientious, high energy starter who takes great pride in their work.
  • Experience with food safety (GAP, GMP, HACCP and SOPs), and worker safety laws and OSHA.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a team environment and relate well to others.
  • Ability to show initiative and commitment to the company’s goals.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements.
  • Strong commitment to performance and productivity. Using the highest level of quality at all times.
  • Ability to manage individual workflow effectively and improve processes when necessary.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with coworkers both written and verbally.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish Preferred).
