Cuyama Orchards Inc. is the leading organic apple grower/packer/shipper in California. We ship the top apple label in the L.A. and S.F. markets, supplying 10 varieties of organic, locally grown apples. A unique opportunity has presented itself for us to bring on board a Sales Representative.
We will be considering candidates with a variety of experience and education.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills across various media
- Phone skills
- Produce knowledge a plus!
The position of Sales Representative is a newly created position. The Sales Rep will provide sales, marketing, and logistical support to the Marketing Director. The Sales Rep will work with the Production Manager, Shipping/Receiving Manager, Office Manager and QC personnel, to assist with all accounts, orders, marketing materials, and ultimately with packing guidance.
- Proactively create opportunities for additional sales with new and existing customers
- Email and phone communications with all customers. Weekly price updates. Daily phone and email order support for customers
- Maintain complete and accurate records of all sales
- Seek to improve sales revenue in line with established sales targets
- Provide professional customer service, with a focus on process improvement and contribution to improving teamwork and workflow
- Limited coordination of trucks/logistical support
- Monitor bulk and packed inventory, and work with production manager to replenish packed inventory
- Marketing support: point of sale materials, web presence, buyer support materials
- Order support for our commercial cold storage operations
- Perform other duties as required
Work Environment and Expectations:
- The Sales Rep will generally be expected to be on site, and hands on at 6:30 a.m. M-F when we are packing, but hours may be somewhat flexible after packing.
- Occasionally working in a plant environment of 32 degrees, anf lifting 40 lbs. boxes of apples
- May require handling some communications after hours.
The right candidate will be the person that excels at working with our operational team and able to meet the needs of our existing clientele, along with producing new clients. This person will grow with our company as we continue to expand our volume and product offerings in the coming years. Pay is negotiable, and will be dependent upon qualifications.
