Established in 1925, Country Fresh is the only cooperative of independent mushroom farms in the United States.

We are searching for a Processing Manager to add to our team in Phoenix, AZ.

As the Processing Manager you are responsible for the coordination and supervision of the production team, and the management of daily mushroom processing activities. Ensuring that all safety expectations, production schedules, customer requirements, and cost efficiencies are met by company and industry standards. You must do all this while providing strong leadership and creating a dedicated, respectful employee environment.

Requirements: 
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory /management experience.
  • High School Diploma / GED Certificate.
  • Bilingual-English/Spanish language, reading, writing preferred.
  • Knowledge of perishable produce operations and distribution.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of QA/QC food safety/quality programs and processes including sanitation, GMPS.
  • Microsoft Office – Excel, Word experience required.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Operational understanding of processes.
  • Use problem solving skills and root cause analysis to resolve and/or migrate operational issues.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to multi-task, work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Manage special projects as required.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Communicates to management, maintains daily production requirements and ensures goals are achieved.
  • Maintain and schedule adequate workforce to accomplish daily processing-sliced activities, day to day procedures and work tasks.
  • Supervises complete production line set-up, including testing/adjusting line equipment.
  • Periodically needs to perform routine line inspection throughout the day, ensuring proper codes and labels are used.
  • Schedule orders based on production availability.
  • Monitor line efficiencies, and maximize personnel productivity to achieve lowest labor cost possible.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy, including daily/ weekly inventory counts.
  • Calculates pounds produced per day and completes production sheets.
  • Assist with the development of SOP’s in packing and training to follow procedures.
  • Work in collaboration with other departments to optimize on product utilization and flow through our system and address various operational issues, which will help to improve company performance. 
  • Contacts maintenance department for required repair work or modifications needed on department equipment.
  • Maintain and ensure the safety and compliance of all employees, enforcement of safety rules, policies and procedures. Conduct Safety / Production meetings for subordinates.
  • Participate in company training programs/outside training seminars, informational meetings and grower/processor discussions.
  • Inspection and monitoring of all plant pest control practices and procedures.
  • Participates/prepares for company third-party audits.
  • Informs General Manager of food safety and quality issues. Monitor product quality and flow to meet customer demands and requirements.
  • Assists during product recall.
  • Maintains HACCP/Quality Control Manuals, documentation and records.
  • Performs/oversees Food Safety and job task training for new and current employees.
  • Supports in the interviewing and recommendation of prospective employees.
  • Responsible for the progressive disciplinary process in the area of counseling, oral, and written warnings.
  • Responsible for completion of department employee evaluations, and written documentation on other employee related issues as needed.
