The General Manager oversees staff, sales, client development, operations and the overall financial performance of Coosemans San Francisco. In addition, the General Manager participates in educating staff on quality and marketing to strengthen their ability to compete in California’s growing produce industry.
The scope of responsibilities includes but my not be limited to:
Financial Performance

Meet annual targets for produce sales, gross margin and net profit;

Monitor and control costs to maintain positive bottom line;

Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports on performance against targets;

Develop and maintain client relationships;
-
Assist Sales Representative in generating sales orders as necessary.
Operations/Systems
-
Develop, streamline and/or maintain efficient systems for:
-
Quality control, receiving and transport;
-
Inventory management and waste minimization;
-
Managing food safety program.

At least five years management experience in produce business;

Strong management, organizational skills;
-
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and as part of a team;
-
Ability to communicate with diverse constituents including clients, service providers, and farmers.

Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, on multiple, competing priorities;

Strong knowledge of organic products
-
A willingness to work a flexible schedule including early morning, nights as needed;

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, or eequivalent experience

Computer literate, including use of inventory management software, word processing, spreadsheets, and internet.

Ability to perform physical labor, ability to lift up to 40 pounds;

Fluent in English and Spanish
