This high net growth company is currently seeking a competent and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Manager to work full-time. In collaboration with Quality and Regulatory Compliance Management staff, the QA Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining the facility personnel and systems, ensuring that all finished product are wholesome, pure, and within customer specification while complying with the internationally standardized requirements. Implementation and maintenance of the food safety and food quality plans in accordance with the requirements of SQF version 7.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all QA staff and sanitation activities.
  • Ensures that plant has adequate controls, programs, and organizational structure in place to comply with all regulations and customer requirements.
  • Notify management of any production, safety, quality or environment concerns within the facility.
  • Coordinate, schedule and track all product to packaging lines to meet scheduled Quality Assurance requirements.
  • Continuously promote quality awareness and assists management with quality training programs.
  • Ensure open and frequent communication and teamwork across all departments.
  • Supervise and oversee QA technicians.
  • Interpret GMP, SQF, FDA regulations and FDA requirements; confers with management or staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Manage routine department activities and assists Supervisors/Leads to control those activities.
  • Manage and Supervise Quality, Food Safety and Sanitation Staff.
  • Ensure that all appropriate records are maintained and that a well-documented tracking and recall programs exits and that all employees are trained properly.
  • Interface with all regulatory agencies and customers ensuring optimum support.

Qualifications:

  • Must have 3 to 5 years of Quality Assurance experience in the food industry
  • Must have experience with HACCP Plan Development
  • Prior supervisory/management experience
  • Must have knowledge with HACCP programs and SQF certification
  • Must have management experience in Fresh Cut Processing
  • Bachelor of Science Degree with emphasis in Microbiology, Biology, or related industry experience 
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
  • SQF Practitioner Certification is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Ability to motivate team efforts to accomplish goals
  • Well organized and able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make sound decisions and problem solve
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to travel to all areas of the plant efficiently, including climbing stairs.
