This position would be in their Palm Springs area office. They also have satellite offices in the Bay Area and Los Angeles.

They’re seeking someone who is motivated and ready to help expand the business while gaining the opportunity to grow the position within the company. The right candidate for this position will have experience in FOB export sales, a book of business & industry relationships, and the ability to travel internationally periodically. Strong people skills, a team player and an ability to diffuse complex situations are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales management of the export of grapes, cherries and citrus to various Asian countries, including North Eastern and South Eastern Asia.
  • Provide input as to relevant market information, strategies, visions and goals.
  • Develop and communicate and sets strategies to grow market share and customer base.
  • Manage accounts receivables

Qualifications:

  • Highly motivated to succeed and a desire to increase profitability for the business.
  • Current book of business and strong industry relationships.
  • Proven ability to recognize opportunities for business expansion within key customers.
  • 5 – 10 years of export sales experience, preferable with fruit.
  • Understanding of the fresh produce EXPORT supply-chain; annual supply/pricing dynamics, business operations, sales contract negotiation, distribution logistics, quality management and claims processing.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with ability to make sound recommendations and solve problems in a team work environment.
  • Experience with grapes, cherries and citrus
  • Bilingual – looking for candidates who speak Mandarin, Korean or Spanish, not required.
  • Ability to analyze complex and changing market factors, evaluate alternative sales practices, and recommend or implement effective courses of action.
  • Ability to communicate in a concise manner.
  • Should be an assertive problem solver who looks beyond the standard solutions to overcome challenges and is comfortable working with a variety of personalities and individuals.
  • Low blood pressure and thick skin.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this opportunity is an ethical business-minded EXPORT produce professional who knows the export business and has experience with grapes, citrus and cherries. This person will be bilingual, preferably with English and Mandarin language proficiency. The ideal candidate will reside in the Palm Springs area and will be comfortable traveling to Asia for business. The best individuals for this position will also have a big book of business and know how to take care of customers to keep and grow their business. Ideally, candidates will have a positive, outgoing personality, a vision for success both personally and professionally, and a strong desire to work hard.
