We are a family-owned and operated grower, shipper, and packer of vegetables based in California’s San Joaquin Valley. With more than 60 years of success, we continue to use progressive and innovative thinking and business methods to remain a top supplier within the industry. We are currently seeking an experienced and self-motivated sales professional who can handle day-to-day sales of the Company in addition to helping expand Company sales. 

Position Reports to: 
General Manager
Responsibilities & Duties: 

Summary: Manage existing customer accounts including day-to-day FOB sales, seasonal contracts and program sales including margins, costs, and development by performing the following duties personally or through peers or subordinate supervisors.

  • Performs and assists in coordinating Company sales to include day-to-day sales, contract and program sales on weekly, monthly, quarterly, seasonal basis.
  • Facilitates communication internally throughout Company operations in order to meet customer needs/requirements on daily, weekly, monthly basis.
  • Creates and communicates both short term and long term sales/production requirements to suppliers; coordinates inventory with sales potential and programmed business.
  • Assist in management of accounts receivable with General Manager and Accounting
  • Assist in directing sales and margin forecasting with General Manager and Director of Sales
  • Analyses of collective Company sales and individual customer sales; assist in setting Company’s sales/marketing plan; set personal performance goals accordingly.
  • Direct staffing throughout Company’s operations to ensure customer needs and Company sales plan are being executed fully.
  • Represents Company at trade/industry functions to promote the Company and its products.
  • Assists in delivering sales presentations to existing and prospective clients with Director of Sales and ownership
  • Meets with clients assisting Director of Sales in maintaining  existing customer relationships in addition to obtaining new accounts
  • Assists in preparing regular sales and market reports; reports to include existing sales, potential sales, areas of possible expansion, inventory status and aging and tracking customer sales against goals/programs.
  • Coordinates regular shipping and product allocation requirements with Shipping and warehouse staff.
  • Facilitates communication with internal and external customers in order resolve issues with inventory and quality of received goods; and collaboratively develop process improvements.
  • Coordinate logistics to terminal markets when necessary.
  • Must exhibit good working knowledge of Company products, operations and procedures; must be able to communicate effectively to customers Company’s harvest and availability schedules.
  • Must exhibit ability to assist in fiscal management of Company’s on-site operations; assisting in directing product/sales needs to packing house personnel; assist in monitoring operational costs associated with cost of goods sold.
  • Ability to get along and work effectively with others is required.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

No direct subordinate responsibilities required. As previously mentioned, will assist General Manager in directing packing house, shipping and warehouse personnel in order to meet customer and Company needs. Must exhibit ability to delegate responsibilities to sales assistant and other personnel to ensure high level of customer service and satisfaction.

  • Considerable experience in fresh produce sales and marketing. Vegetable experience preferred; dry vegetable experience ideal.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Outlook Contact Management systems; Famous Database software; Internet software (iTrade); Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word Processing software.
  • Current California Driver's License and proof of insurance and/or insurability.
