We’re seeking a human resources expert who’s up to the challenge of the produce industry with its demanding workload, dynamic environment, and constant changes to help oversee our human resources and food safety administrative needs as an Office Manager.

As the Office Manager you will play a crucial role in our company. You are responsible for ensuring that all human resources, food safety and administrative tasks are completed in an efficient, timely and accurate manner. You will work with internal departments on maintaining human resources and food safety standards. You are also responsible for communicating changes/reports to internal departments and helping to optimize business procedures. 

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a produce office setting and will be capable of handling a wide range of human resources, food safety and administrative tasks.  This person must be well organized, flexible, and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting a team that is busy and in need of efficient human resources, food safety administration. The best candidate will have a team-oriented personality and will exhibit integrity, job dedication, good work ethic, and punctuality.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, food safety management or a related field
  • Three to five years’ proven experience managing human resources and safety programs
  • Must be bilingual/bi-literate in English/Spanish
  • Experience in the agriculture and produce industry a plus
  • Must possess leadership skills
  • Ability to analyzing information and pay keen attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent grammar, spelling, and proof reading skills
  • Ability to perform at high levels in a fast paced ever-changing work environment
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction
  • Excellent organizational skills

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and helping resolve work-related problems
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policy, fair employment practices and government regulations
  • Manage employee documentation such as Employee Handbook and Safety Manual
  • Advise and train managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changes
  • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits
  • Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates
  • Provide general guidance, direction, advice and regulatory requirements in all areas of safety and health programs
  • Maintain OSHA documentation the MSDS books and chemical lists.  Work with other managers responsible for hazardous material handling
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings.  Coach and educate all levels of management and employees on safety regulations
  • Develop and maintain all company occupational safety and health programs
  • Receive all OSHA citations and determine appropriate responses and actions under the direction of the General Manager
  • Receive and review all field safety audits, risk assessments. Complete analysis, measurement and reports as directed
