Job Description: 

Our client is an innovative producer and marketer of a specialty value-added product sold exclusively in the produce department. They have experienced 15 years of successful sales growth in North America.  The recent introduction of a state-of-the-art new product is bringing them to an all new level.

This passionate team is looking for a Regional Sales Manager and analytical thinker who will be focused on retail and wholesale business development. This position will be remotely based from a home office on the East Coast. The purpose of this role is to drive sales and profitability within the region. The ideal candidate will leverage their relationships with retail and wholesale customers to increase distribution and household penetration of their product lines.

We are searching for a dynamic professional with exceptional new business development, account management and planning skills as well as retail and/or wholesale account sales experience and a thorough understanding of the value-added Produce environment.

Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Build retail and wholesale distribution and increase household penetration of the brand in the Eastern United States
  • Partner with management to establish and implement personal sales plans/strategies for assigned territory; establishes behaviors for success to achieve goals
  • Make scheduled sales presentations to assigned territory
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to deliver and leverage insightful consumer/shopper customer-specific selling stories
  • Partner with produce brokers to execute business plans and optimize retail execution
  • Represent the brand at selected produce trade shows
  • Responsible for the sales forecast for assigned region
Qualifications: 
  • BA/Business degree or equivalent training with 5 years of experience in sales and experience in selling to produce departments
  • Strong relationships within retail and wholesale fresh produce channels in the assigned region
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and leverage syndicated and internal sales data
  • Ability to travel, up to 30% of the time
  • Valid Driver License and clean driving record
