Job Description: 

The Cold Storage Manager is responsible for the Day time cooler operations overseeing employee safety, performance, shipping, receiving, and cooling and monitor Famous Software. Ammonia Safety Certified (ASTI) certification and QAL is highly preferred.

Responsibilities & Duties: 

Shipping: Monitor Famous Software and ensure employees are loading trucks timely. Monitor next day’s key account orders and pre-stage on the dock as necessary.

Receiving / Cooling: Monitor Famous Software and oversee receiving and cooling functions to ensure smooth operational flow and department guidelines are followed.

Cold Room Inventory: Maximize product arrangement space in the dry and cold rooms.        

Customer Contact: Ensure that customers and drivers are treated respectfully; employees are wearing company uniforms and communication between departments is constant.

Employee Staffing: Monitor and control overtime and double time; ensuring labor code compliance                       

Maintenance: Coordinate with maintenance department on facility service requirements. Ensure that the facility is kept cleaned & well maintained.

Safety: Ensure that all forklift personnel complete the daily safety checklists prior shift start. Ensure that employee safety and food safety regulations are followed.

Requirements: 

Minimum 5 years’ supervisory experience, preferably in the agricultural industry is desired; 2 years’ minimum experience using a Famous Software; working knowledge of computers. Work Force Management software and Microsoft Office Suite; 5 years’ experience in agriculture cooling, receiving and shipping operations is preferred.
