To help us get started on the East Coast, we are seeking a Procurement Manager to oversee the procurement department and staff at our new site in the Philadelphia area. You will be responsible for leading the procurement activities at our new facility and will oversee the purchase of most food items determined by our recipe specs. You will work closely with our Executive Chef, Branding, and Operations teams.
- Oversee the procurement department and staff
- Partner with the Operations, Culinary and Analyst to ensure high levels of quality and proper levels of product
- Participate in inventory counts and organization as needed
- Purchase and maintain accurate levels of inventory to fulfill production of meals bags
- Partner with the Head of Prep to ensure proper yield on product prior to and during prep work
- Minimize purchasing overages and waste, utilizing forecasting models and yields
- Develop supplier standards and protocols to fit brand commitment and all compliance requirements
- Identify new vendors, negotiate terms and supply agreements where necessary including discount structures and volume rebates.
- Maintain vendor relationships while constantly researching new or secondary suppliers for produce, meat and seafood.
- Ensure products are purchased at the most competitive price and delivered on time for production
- Continually improve procurement methods to drive down external spend
- Review invoices for accuracy
- Ability to educate staff and gain commitment to quality across all departments
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum five years experience in procurement and material sourcing in the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of perishables including fresh vegetables and fruit.
- Ability to drive aggressive implementation plans and schedules
- Ability to integrate sourcing solutions with forecasting systems for 100% fill rate
- Excellent communication, organization, analytical, research and negotiation skills
- Solid systems experience and working knowledge of procurement software solutions
- Experienced in creating, negotiating and administration of contracts
- Able to work independently
- Highly organized with a strong business acumen
