We are a family owned and operated Apple Orchard in Southeastern Minnesota. Our farm sits on the banks of the Mississippi River with spectacular views, while being surrounded by the bluffs. Our farm is on nearly 1,000 acres of land with a beautiful scenic setting that is devoted to apple production. The apple orchard consists of 160 acres with another 150 acres ready for possible expansion. We have been a part of this community for over 40 years and produce 28 varieties of superb apples.
We are seeking an experienced Apple Orchard General Manager with at least 7 years of working knowledge on an orchard. This job will encompass the responsibility for overseeing all farm operations, to include managing a staff responsible for Warehouse cold storage, packing, shipping and customer service.
- B.A or B.S. is preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in managing irrigated apple tree crops and employees.
- Able to communicate in Spanish and English.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to effectively build and manage a team-oriented culture.
- Must have a mechanical aptitude, irrigation knowledge, pruning and trellising.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communications skills.
- Possess computer literacy with working knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Must reside on the grounds (home is provided for incumbent).
- Proof of valid driver’s license.

- Direct and coordinate the overall operations of the orchard.
- Manage a team of regular and seasonal employees. Responsible for leadership, hiring, training and coaching in a harmonious working climate, while maximizing employee morale and productivity.
- Overall operations of the orchard, including orchard development, irrigation, application/pest management, pruning, trellising, grafting and harvesting.
- Establish goals, direction and vision while strategically planning all projects with the owners.
- Identify equipment improvements, changes and/or replacements.
- Budget and manage orchard to ensure efficient/profitable operations and ongoing fiscal responsibilities.
- Proven ability to communicate and work with all levels of management.
