Job Description:

Over the years we’ve continued to grow and expand our company becoming one of Texas’s most successful growers, importers and distributors of specialty produce.

We are currently seeking a Fleet and Logistics Supervisor in the Houston, TX area.

As a Fleet and Logistics Supervisor you will organize, monitor, and supervise the operations of Airline logistics. You are responsible for ensuring all vehicles and drivers meet DOT, FMCSA and any other regulatory agencies requirements. You will also monitor maintenance, coordinate the acquisition and dissemination of the vehicle fleet, and provide technical assistance to customers as needed.

Requirements: 
  • Requires a BS in Supply Chain, or Business, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 – 5 years of transportation experience.
  • 2 years of Supervisory experience.
  • Ability to coach.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Experience tracking budget expenses.
  • Production planning experience.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Formulate, recommend, and implement delivery procedures for accurate and timely deliveries to support order processing.
  • Review and recommend staffing needs to assure timely and accurate shipments, receipts, and order fulfillment.
  • Interact with customers to address concerns and promote the growth of the business.
  • Ensure all vehicles and drivers meet DOT, DPS, FMCSA, OSHA and other federal and state regulatory agencies standards.
  • Contain freight and delivery costs.
  • Strive toward zero safety incidents goal.
  • Direct, coordinats and document vehicle maintenance.
  • Monitor plant and vehicle utilization and provide advice on appropriate action to improve this.
  • Ensure that the staff carry out the responsibilities of their positions in accordance with their position descriptions, and relevant policies and procedures.
  • Educate drivers and team members on regulatory compliance.
  • Coach and discipline drivers as needed.
  • With help from the Human Resources Department, prepare and execute a formal fleet program.
  • Responsible for training staff and customers on B-mobile and other company systems.
  • Address and follow up with appropriate party to resolve customer complaints.
  • Develop a returned-items receiving procedure to ensure all returned items are documented accurately.
  • Determine routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits of states.
  • Supervise and manage department staff, including but not limited to, establishing work schedules, assigning tasks, disciplining and cross-training staff.
  • Prepare and present reports to president, as needed.
  • Assist in the coordination of work activities between departments.
  • Other duties as required.
