Job Description: 

We are a high quality wholesale produce company meeting the needs of independent grocers and chain stores in Central Ohio. We handle custom packaging, and retail and foodservice distribution.

We are currently searching for a Warehouse Operations Manager in Central Ohio.

The Warehouse Operations manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the receiving/distribution facility, including directly overseeing the shipping, receiving, warehousing, and logistical aspects of the company.

The ideal candidate will have a background in perishable food distribution management and know how to schedule employees for optimum efficiency. You will lead by example and create a work environment that encourages team work. Creating and enforcing procedures, along with superb organizational skills is paramount.

You must be highly flexible in your availability to perform the job.  Working hours are Monday thru Friday 6am – 4pm, or as needed in order to properly manage the warehouse operations; a half day on either Saturday or Sunday is also expected. The hours will be dictated by the projects at hand, and will likely range from 45-60 per week.  Off hours may be required on occasion to assess the other two shifts, as the operation is 24/7.

Salary will be based on experience and knowledge.

Requirements: 
  • Bachelor degree.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment, hours and responsibilities.
  • 5+ years’ supervisory experience in food/distribution, warehousing business.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams to deliver results.
  • Collaborative management style and excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership in food safety, consumer safety and employee safety.
  • Project management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Allergen, cross contamination and general food safety awareness.
  • ERP experience.
  • Audit familiarity.
  • Procedure setup and implementation expertise.
  • Process documentation expertise.
Responsibilities & Duties: 
  • Schedule all necessary employees to assure successful production. Guide, Train and communicate effectively with all new hires and employees.
  • Direct reports include – shipping manager, logistics manager, receiving manager, warehouse manager. Controls costs of these departments to run efficiently.
  • Create, modify, and enforce procedures assuring accuracy, timelines, quality and staffing needs of the shipping and receiving department.
  • Create, modify and enforce procedures to control inventory, properly rotate and handle produce, slot product, staff and comply with government and customer guidelines.
  • Create, modify and enforce procedures to maintain logistics timeliness, maintenance, coordination and compliance while ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Committed to food safety, GMP’s and total quality with all of our products.
  • Documentation, coordination and communication to all supervisors, managers and business leaders.
  • Sense of urgency and engagement to the business needs.
  • Provide leadership, expertise and continuous improvement to the operations process.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal laws such as OSHA, FDA and USDA.
